Designations & Proclamations
One of the most effective ways to raise awareness for Careers in Energy Week is to secure official recognition from elected officials through a proclamation or designation. These recognitions help spotlight the importance of the energy workforce, celebrate industry professionals, and increase public awareness of the diverse career opportunities available in energy.
Designation: A designation formally recognizes the third week of October as Careers in Energy Week within a state, county, city, or other jurisdiction. This type of recognition can help establish ongoing awareness and support for energy workforce development efforts. The sample designation letter requests support for formally recognizing the observance and highlights its national significance.
Proclamation: A proclamation is an official statement issued by a governor, mayor, county executive, or other public official recognizing Careers in Energy Week (October 19-23, 2026) and honoring the contributions of the energy workforce.
