The Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD) is excited to announce the ‘People of Energy’, a series of stories that celebrates the individuals who keep our industry and economy running, from field crews to corporate leadership. Modeled after the Humans of New York, this campaign will showcase the diverse array of opportunities that exist within the sector and underscore the impact of energy professionals across platforms like GetIntoEnergy.org, social media, email campaigns, printed collateral, and industry events.

We need your help to bring these stories to life and inspire the next generation to embrace the opportunities before them.

How to Participate

1. Identify people at your company whose stories could inspire future energy professionals. These include:
   1. Long-tenured employees with insights on industry evolution
   2. New or young professionals with fresh perspectives
   3. Career changers (e.g., veterans) who found purpose in energy
   4. Boots-on-the-ground workers with real-world stories
2. Invite them to tell their story in their own words or interview them
3. Submit the information requested using the form below or submit to [email protected].

Energy Story Prompts

With a compelling narrative for each profile, we will spotlight the people who make the industry what it is, showcasing diverse roles and individuals within energy. Use this space to highlight the skills, passion, and impact of energy professionals. In 200 words or less, respond to one of the prompts below:

1. What makes you proud of the work you do?
2. How has working in the energy industry impacted your life and/or that of your family’s?
3. What advice do you have for someone considering an energy career?
4. What is your fondest memory or single experience in your energy career?
5. What inspired you to join the energy industry/what was your experience getting started in the energy industry?
6. How do the people you interact with at work (or within the energy industry) impact your day?
