Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD) Launches New Career Education Website

The New Site Will Support Efforts to Attract a Skilled, Diverse Energy Workforce

WASHINGTON, October 25, 2021 — The Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD) announced today the re-launch of GetIntoEnergy.org, a website built by industry collaboration to educate students and career explorers about the vast array of careers in energy. The new site offers comprehensive information on careers in electric power, natural gas, nuclear energy, and renewables, including work in the skilled trades, technical roles, engineering positions, and careers that support the business of energy. Special attention is given to the important work done by industry contractors and unions.

The revamped site is the latest initiative from CEWD to bring greater awareness to energy careers, as sectors and businesses across the country are facing challenges in filling vacant positions. The site was enabled with the support of energy companies across the country that contributed videos that bring the industry to life, testimonials from those passionate about their work, articles that offer career explorers a glimpse into what it’s like to work in the industry, and many more resources.

“There is no more exciting time to be part of the energy industry than now,” noted Missy Henriksen, Executive Director for CEWD. “We have a powerful story to tell about work in this industry, the innovation that’s required and the essential work to be done. Careers in the energy sector remain a bit of a mystery to many and CEWD is committed to ensuring the best and brightest discover their career opportunities in energy. We aim to attract a skilled, diverse workforce to lead the industry’s response to some of the biggest issues before us such as decarbonization goals, rebuilding the nation’s energy grid, electrification, technology advancements, and so much more.”

GetIntoEnergy.org will serve as a hub of communication about career opportunities in the industry and will direct visitors to a job board that lists thousands of vacant positions in energy companies. CEWD will expand its outreach to drive traffic to the site through media relations, collaborative partnerships, and digital strategies.

The Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD) is a non-profit consortium of electric, natural gas, nuclear, and renewable energy companies, and their associations, committed to the development of a skilled, diverse energy workforce.
