Passionate Veterans Encourage Fellow Vets to Work in Energy Careers

Thanks to a contribution from the Distribution Contractors Association and LIUNA, CEWD has produced a series of videos that share testimonials on why so many veterans have found a second career in energy. It was a pleasure to collaborate with Veterans in Energy to create these pieces. Watch them here and share within your communities:Why Veterans Get Into Energy

Help Build the Industry’s Virtual DE&I Library

As part of a commitment to the DE&I Roadmap for Industry Change and to creating more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplaces, CEWD and its partner organizations are collecting DE&I resources that can be shared within the industry. The materials will be housed on a new secure portal for the exclusive use of industry professionals. Help us stock the virtual shelves by submitting any (or all) of the following resources to staff@cewd.org by June 15:

  • Your company’s DE&I strategic plan
  • Your company’s DE&I vision/value/mission statements
  • Your maturity model
  • Examples of how DE&I metrics are incorporated into corporate goals
  • Job description for Chief Diversity Officer and other DE&I positions
  • DE&I moments your company uses
  • DE&I ERG charter
  • Materials your company uses with labor partners (e.g. diversity pledge, educational materials, etc.)
  • Information on high potential development programs
  • Culture, equity, and inclusion program information
  • Information on successful DE&I programs

EIF Update

The first unit of Energy Industry Fundamentals 2.0 has hit the streets for a pilot test with students and educators! The new, 120-hour curriculum is designed to introduce students in high school and technical school to energy and the careers it offers.
