CEWD Taps Becky Meggesin as Interim Midwest Consultant

35-year industry veteran will provide support to companies and consortia

CEWD is pleased to announce Becky Meggesin will serve as the organization’s Interim Midwest Consultant for the next several months, supporting members and consortia within the region. Meggesin is currently serving as a consultant to CEWD’s West and Northwest regions.

Prior to joining the CEWD team, Meggesin was employed by Southern Company Gas as its Vice President of Talent Management and Labor Relations. She worked at Nicor Gas and Southern Company Gas for a combined 35 years in all facets of the business–accounting, operations, sales, customer service, and human resources.

“We are thrilled that Becky will be providing direct support to member companies in the Midwest region,” noted Missy Henriksen, CEWD’s executive director. “Becky has a deep understanding of the strategies associated with workforce development and is well-versed in creating and executing on tactics to attract, train, and retain top-talent. She has a deep, personal commitment to the industry and is eager to expand her territory to support business leaders in the Midwest Region.”

CEWD had announced its intent to hire a full-time Director of Workforce Development but recently pressed pause on hiring for that position as part of its COVID-19 response. CEWD’s leadership will engage shortly on how the organization will expand its services in order to best support its members and the industry in response to new workforce development challenges created by the global pandemic. Future hiring decisions will be made based on the newly identified needs and priorities. No timeline has been established for future staffing.

Of her new role, Meggesin stated, “I am excited about working more closely with CEWD’s members in the Midwest Region. My roots are in the area and I have a strong affinity for the companies and people there. Now, perhaps more than ever before, it will be important for the industry to work together in planning for the future of work. I look forward to standing alongside them to chart our path forward.”

Meggesin is a graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in Accounting and Business Administration; she completed the Executive Development Leadership Institute at the Kellogg School of Management and earned a Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) designation.

CEWD veteran consultant, Rosa Schmidt, will continue her direct support of members in other areas of the country, particularly those up and down the eastern seaboard.
