The Center for Energy Workforce Development partnered with the National Skills Coalition for the Energy Workforce Capitol Hill Visits on November 21, 2024, directly following the CEWD Workforce Development Summit. Energy employers and other stakeholders involved in the energy workforce unite to address the pressing workforce challenges facing our industry. With the increasing demand for energy, the nation-wide focus on energy security and resiliency, and the need to attract, train and retain 32 million workers over the next 10 years, the demand for a robust talent pipeline has never been greater. Hill Visit participants educate U.S. Senators and U.S. House of Representatives and their staffers on:

  1. Industry partnerships that unite multiple employers and other stakeholders to tackle workforce needs;
  2. Critical investments in workforce development programs,
  3. The expansion funding for short-term, industry-driven training programs; and
  4. Employer needs in the workforce space.

This day is for those who know their way around the Hill and first timers, eager to share perspective and voice to help educate those who want to better understand the industry’s people needs and priorities. The visits advance a strategic, cohesive national workforce focused agenda to Members of Congress that are instrumental in enabling workforce preparedness within the sector.
