What makes you proud of the work you do?
What makes me proud of the work that I do is when I’m driving in to work early in the morning and I catch a glimpse of the Manhattan skyline. I know that it’s the company that I work for and especially the job that I do as a senior substation operator that keeps those lights on for the city that never sleeps.

How has working in the energy industry impacted your life or family?
Being at Con Edison has impacted my life because I am the fifth generation of my family to work for the company. My great-grandfather worked at 708 on the East Side. Growing up I remember my family talking about work and smiling. Their jobs always seemed like so much fun.
I also remember what I thought to be the strange hours my father and uncle worked. Now I work those same strange hours. Working here has afforded me the life that I live now. This job has also given me knowledge of things that I never would have known if I didn’t work here. I’ve been able to apply the things I’ve learned from my job and my coworkers that I use in my daily life.
