I was enlightened about the energy field at a very early age. My father was a technician for the Continuous Emissions Monitoring equipment at numerous facilities. I was still learning to tie my shoes, and he would take me to work with him so I can witness firsthand America’s large scale energy production. I had my own hard-hat and safety glasses and would bring it in to show and tell at school and try to explain what I got to witness. From the front-end loaders to the trucks, to the plant control rooms, I was hooked. Right after college I put my application to work at Waste to Energy facilities. The thought of taking the least desirable products people generate and give it back to them as desirable energy was the coolest form of recycling. Starting off as a plant engineer at a 2250ton/day facility, then to a field project engineer, and now currently in management role, I’m encouraged to keep on growing! Each day I still find something that keeps that innocent spark alive.
