Seeking Volunteers to Guide the Reimagined Energy Industry Fundamentals Curriculum

We are ready to put pen to paper on the reimagination of the Energy Industry Fundamentals (EIF) curriculum! Strategists eager to impact how and what students learn about the energy industry and the careers it offers will begin their work in early September, advancing the new program – that will include robust and modern curriculum and an engaging online delivery – for a debut in time for the 2023-2024 school year. Once launched, CEWD expects to educate 500,000 students about energy careers over the next ten years. Interested in being a part of this project? Contact Kristie Kelley for more information.

CEWD and National Governors Association Collaborate

Earlier this month, CEWD’s Executive Director, Missy Henriksen, spoke at the National Governors Association’s State Workforce Development Directors Summer Symposium about Developing a Robust and Resilient Energy Workforce. This group has a strong interest in workforce development efforts within their states related to energy. Several state directors have already reached out to CEWD for connections with State Energy Workforce Consortia and companies within their areas. CEWD looks forward to continued collaboration with NGA and its Workforce Development Directors.

Introducing Workforce Board Leaders to the Needs of the Energy Workforce

CEWD has joined the National Association of Workforce BoardsCheck out our profile here. This new collaboration will support outreach to workforce system leaders throughout the country and provide increased visibility for the industry’s workforce development needs. Workforce boards are a critical leader in how states and localities invest in training and how workforce priorities are determined in the region. If you are interested in learning more about the work done by workforce boards and/or how to get connected with state or regional boards in your area, please contact your regional consultant (Rosa Schmidt or Kristie Kelley) or Missy Henriksen

The 2022 Workforce Development Summit Will Impress

Innovate, Collaborate, and Accelerate are the key words that describe the focus on the 2022 Workforce Development Summit. The comprehensive program and insightful speakers are going to wow you! This year’s Summit is for everyone whose professional responsibilities include a focus on the industry’s future workforce.

Not All Bills Are Digital

In response to a member request, CEWD has created new “bill stuffers” that promote energy careers. One specifically highlights Careers in Energy Week (October 17-23), while the other is an evergreen piece for use at any time. You will find them here. CEWD members can co-brand these pieces by using versions found in the CEWD Members Only portal
