What makes me proud is knowing that the work we do here at FPL, specifically through the Storm Secure Underground Program (SSUP), a team I’m proud to be a part of, has a real and immediate impact on people’s lives and the reliability of their electricity. We’re safely taking power lines that have been above ground for decades and putting them underground, which means fewer outages and a grid that can handle whatever storms come our way.

What makes it even more special for me is that I started my career as a lineman. I always see it through the eyes of someone who has set the poles, climbed the poles, pulled the wire and worked through Florida’s heat and storms to keep the lights on. I know what it means to restore power to a family after a tragic storm and that experience never leaves you. It shapes everything about how I lead today.

Now I’m in a different role, but the mission is the same. At the end of the day, this work isn’t just about power lines. It’s about the people on the other side of them, and that’s what drives me.
