John Skiff is an Army Veteran whose journey at Eversource began in 2011 in the meter department, followed by advancement through the Lineman program and a supervisor role in electric field operations. After a military deployment in 2015, he returned to a warm welcome from coworkers and supervisors—a testament to the strong relationships he has built within the organization.

Earlier this year, John transitioned into a new role as Manager of Emergency Preparedness, where he now oversees Logistics and Resource Acquisition. He drew on his extensive experience at Eversource, along with 12 years of military logistics expertise, to pursue and secure this opportunity. In his leadership, John emphasizes empathy, trust, and team empowerment—meeting regularly with his team to support their growth and well-being. He reminds aspiring leaders that success in a new role isn’t defined by past experience alone, but by how well you support, respect, and represent your team.

As co-leader of the Veterans Business Resource Group, John continues to serve by helping fellow veterans find community and purpose in the energy industry. His story exemplifies how veterans can successfully transition into energy careers—bringing leadership, resilience, and a deep sense of service to roles that make a meaningful impact.
