Working in the energy industry has transformed my life and, in many ways, the life of my family. It opened doors I once only dreamed of as a young girl growing up in a rural village in Trinidad. My father, an electrician, first introduced me to the work that brought electricity to our homes and businesses.

This industry gave me the chance to pursue an engineering career, continue my education and build a better future for my family.

It surrounded me with mentors, teachers and colleagues who supported my growth. In turn, it allowed me to serve as a role model for young women, first generation students, immigrants and students of color.

Most importantly, it gave me a profound sense of purpose — contributing to the clean energy transition that will shape the world my family and future generations will inherit.
