Working behind the seens with member outreach and legislation that benefits members of Local 242, I love seeing people realize their power. Whether it’s a member showing up to their first meeting, volunteering for a campaign, or speaking up on an issue that affects their family, those moments matter. This work isn’t always easy or glamorous, but it’s real—and it makes a difference.
I’m proud to be part of a union that doesn’t just talk about solidarity, but lives it. We fight for good jobs, safe working conditions, strong communities, and opportunities for working families to thrive. Showing up together—at the jobsite, at the Capitol, or in our neighborhoods—creating change that lasts.
As a BIPOC woman in this movement, I’m especially proud to help create a space where more voices are heard and more people feel like they belong. Representation matters, and so does mentorship and lifting one another up.
At the end of the day, this work is about people—our members, our families, and our future. Being part of something bigger than myself, and helping build a stronger path forward, is what keeps me going.
