I have been in the energy industry for over two decades concurrent with my service in the US Army. I recently retired from the Reserve as an E8 (MSG) in mid-2024. I have held multiple roles within my organization to include being a worker in the field (both electric and natural gas) and now in the “corporate” realm. The energy industry has provided a stable life for my family and me, and I am incredibly grateful to have been able to be a part of this industry. I am proud to be a part of my organization and to be a part of the energy industry.

I have found comradery in this industry, similar to what I found in the ranks in the Army. This is not just tied to my organization exclusively, but to the industry as a whole. We attend Veterans in Energy (VIE) annually in Washington D.C. and because of this gathering, I have been able to network with others and develop friendships across the industry. The photo I uploaded was from the 2025 VIS conference. I’m on the right sitting down in grey slacks and brown shoes for reference.
