I take pride in my work at REC because the industry and my role directly affect our members’ everyday lives. As part of the REC team, I help ensure that members receive reliable service, especially during outages and emergencies, which helps maintain safety and functionality in the communities we serve. The responsibility, teamwork and problem-solving in this field of work gives me a strong sense of purpose and accomplishment, and the enjoyment of figuring things out in real time while contributing to something bigger than myself.
Coordinating crews, communicating with all teams involved, and helping others perform safely and effectively are huge responsibilities, and I take them very seriously. I highly value making sure the work gets done right with integrity, while everyone goes home safe to their families at the end of each day.
The utility industry has shaped me by instilling discipline, leadership and rapid problem-solving skills. It has taught me to handle high-pressure situations, take responsibility, and lead teams effectively throughout my journey. It has also motivated me to continue my education and given me a strong sense of purpose in my work.
