My parents immigrated to Canada when I was four years old. I have few memories of those earlier years, but I distinctly remember struggling with childhood asthma due to environmental pollutants. After the move to a cleaner environment, I stopped having as many asthma attacks. So, from a young age, the importance of a healthy environment was always there, in the specter of my illness.
After law school, I realized that the best combination of my professional skillset with my passion for the environment lay in clean energy. Domestically, I work on renewable energy projects across the U.S., from community solar to utility scale. In my pro bono projects, I work with international organizations that create innovative solutions so that small businesses can access finance and acquire cleaner technology for their companies and households, whether in agriculture, solar drying technology, PAYGO innovations, or clean cooking.
I enjoy this work because I believe that every little piece of the energy transition is necessary and can improve lives. There is so much to learn and build, and I’m excited to continue working together with people passionate about clean energy from across the world!
