In her own words:
My son didn’t understand why I missed school events but once he became an adult, he has been one of my biggest supporters. He tells anyone who questions my strength that I can outwork all of them.
The biggest challenge I have faced as a woman in this field is people believing I don’t have the knowledge to do the job. But once we start talking, it’s apparent I have the knowledge and ability. I usually have to bring up that I worked on a milking farm when I grew up and that was harder than this job.
