Benhardt helps to maintain a clean water supply to communities outside of St. Louis, Missouri. Her responsibilities include leak repairs and locating water lines. Additionally, she takes daily water samples and delivers them to the lab.
In her own words:
I am the first and only woman in this union still to this day. I try to promote other women in the industry across the board, including participating in job fairs to show other women these are the kinds of jobs you can have without college.
This job has allowed me to support my family and put my two daughters through college. I also have two girls I have guardianship over because of the death of their parents, and I’ve been able to provide healthcare for them.
