My dad was a lineman for 14 years before becoming line superintendent for 33 years at Chippewa Valley Electric Cooperative. He also served as a board member, so I grew up surrounded by the co-op world. As a kid, I helped answer outage calls at home, and I’ll never forget the time I got to ride along with him on an outage. I saw an electrical arch, and I remember thinking that it was amazing. That moment stuck with me and sparked my interest in linework.

I started in the industry as summer help at Chippewa Valley, then went to lineman school after my third year there. Soon after, I joined Eau Claire Energy Cooperative, and I’ve been here for 39 1/2 years.
Being a lineman isn’t always easy, but it’s so rewarding. I love serving our members and doing a job that makes a difference every single day.
