State Consortia Overview

National Solutions. Regional Implementation.

State Energy Workforce Consortia are strategic partnerships between the energy industry, education, workforce systems, and community stakeholders who work together to define a state’s or region’s talent needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.

Consortia are currently active in approximately 20 states across the country, with more forming every year.

How CEWD Support Consortia

CEWD provides robust support for consortia at every stage—from formation to maturity. Our resources include:

  • Governance frameworks
  • Partnership development strategies
  • Strategic planning templates and support
  • Implementation toolkits and support for initiatives such as the Energy and Natural Resources Career Cluster adoption
  • Access to a national network of consortia leaders

CEWD members can access the full library of consortia tools and resources here.

Each year, CEWD hosts a national meeting for consortia leaders prior to our annual Workforce Development Summit, creating opportunities to share ideas, strategies, and best practices.
